This workshop will be a broad overview of financial planning for families and individuals with special needs. The goal of this workshop is to give you a better understanding of what a special needs plan looks like. You will get an introduction into the options available to you, and the critical mistakes to avoid. We’ll touch on topics like SSI, Medicaid, SSDI, Medicare, Trusts, ABLE accounts, POA’s, and medical directives, as well as multi-generational planning and tax considerations. There are varying degrees of disability, from mild to severe, and this workshop can benefit everyone.
Chad’s parents both had adult onset disabilities, and he saw firsthand the lack of access to financial planning available to individuals with disabilities or special needs and the people who care for them. This created a desire to make planning available to the special needs community, and led Chad to complete the Chartered Special Needs Consultant® designation (ChSNC®). This is the only designation specifically designed to provide in depth knowledge of areas such as disability law, life insurance, healthcare issues, special needs trusts, social security benefits, estate planning and other issues unique to special needs clients and their caregivers..
Chad has been with Paul Winkler, Inc. since 2015, and he is passionate about developing personalized financial plans. He enjoys working with sophisticated financial planning software and working together with clients to develop and monitor a plan that will help them take control of their financial lives and move towards achieving their goals.
Chad and his wife Michelle were married in 2007 and reside in Gallatin, TN. Chad’s hobby is photography and he and Michelle enjoy traveling to the coast when time allows.
